Born in a small town in east Texas it was always my dream to become a cowboy. My love of horses started with my first pony when I was 5 years old. With no fear in my heart and no sense in my head I would sneak out when my parents were asleep and go riding. It wasn't until he threw me off and ran off down main street did that dream come crashing down. The pony was sold but the dream didn't die. Shortly after my family moved us out to Central Coast California to live near my grandparents horse ranch in Santa Ynez. Never had I seen such amazing country or beautiful horses. I was back in the saddle but still no understanding of the equine mindset or the relationship they have with humans. As the years passed I would always look forward to spending time at the ranch and learning all I could about horses. Every opportunity to spend time at the barn I took. Just to spend time with them was a blessing and every time I was in the saddle felt like Christmas came early.
As an adult I took another path in pursuing a career in Martial Arts which brought me all over the country and the world. It wasn't until a life altering accident that turned my life upside down where I was forced to start over with an uncertain future. It was through that tragedy and the development of PTSD that brought me back to the beginning. It was faith in God that sustained me through it as He used horses to help me understand it. The fear that nearly crippled me became the greatest gift as an insight to the horses mind. Years have gone by now and today that love has brought me on a never ending pursuit of horse discovery. Though I will never arrive at the destination, I will continue to learn and share those lessons and principles with other equine enthusiasts through my training methods and natural principles. Let me help you on your own horsemanship journey...
